Kano State government will provide free vitamin ‘A’ to over three million children across the state in one week.
This is parts of activities lined up to mark the 2024 Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) week.
This was disclosed by the state commissioner for health Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf during the flag-off of first round of 2024 MNCH week held at Unguwa Uku in Tarauni Local Government Area of the state. According to him, during the week various activities were slated to take place in commoration of the week as part of curative and preventive measures adopted in ensuring effective health delivery services to mothers and children I’m the state.
In his address Alive and Thrive Team Lead Kano, Dr Ashiru Hamza Muhammed stated that as one of the state’s health development partners his organization has been assisting the Mano state government especially on nutrition as well as micro nutrient supplements.
Similarly, in his address while flagging off the MNCH week, Kano state governor Abba Kabir Yusuf stated that his administration has been a lot in the health sector to improve the health services for all to thrive and develop.
He explained that the state has demonstrated an unalloyed commitment towards nutrition promotion programs, adding that the state is set to provide affordable and accessible healthcare services to all the 44 local government areas of the state.
