The Senate passed the National Minimum Wage Bill, 2024 on Tuesday.
The Red Chamber approved the bill during Tuesday’s first, second, and third readings.
President Bola Tinubu had submitted the bill to the Senate earlier in the day.
He said the bill prescribed a national minimum wage and also provided a legal framework for a seamless review of the minimum wage.
The new minimum wage specified by the bill, is N70,000, an increase from the current N30,000.
It is now to be reviewed every three years against every five years of revision.
