The third Nigeria Annual Automotive Industry Exhibition and Award will recognise state governors who have done well in road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance.
The President of the Automobiles and Road Safety Initiative, Samuel Oriowo disclosed this on Friday in Abuja, adding that those who made outstanding contributions would be recognized and celebrated at the event billed for Thursday, October 3, 2024 in Lagos.
The statement said the Minister of Transportation, Senator Saidu Ahmed Alkali, and Deputy Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem (FRSC Deputy Corps Marshal Training), among other eminent Nigerians, would receive awards at the event.
Oriowo said the event would also mark and celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independent Anniversary.
Oriowo said notable automobile brands in the country will also be recognised.
The event has the theme: “The Best and the Brightest of the Nigeria Automotive Industry on Parade & Talents Discovery,” and will also witness the installation of the NGO’s Grand Patrons, Patrons and Patroness.
He said the governors who will be honoured have been painstakingly watched, adding that they have met nothing more than 70 per cent of Automobiles and Road Safety Initiative’s set standards in roads rehabilitation, maintenance and construction engineering; laced with safety components.
Oriowo said the awards would be in two categories – Awards of Excellence in Intra-State Mobility and Transportation, and the Most Excellence in Road Safety, will be given to some worthy governors.
