The All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for Edo guber election has demanded an investigation into the attack of its gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Monday Okpebholo.
The council, in a statement on Friday in Benin, by its Director of Publicity, Comrade Orobosa Omo-Ojo, condemned attack against the gubernatorial candidate.
Omo-Ojo said the culprits of the incident must be brought to book.
“We are appalled by the gruesome murder of Police Inspector Onu Ako, who was killed in cold blood while carrying out his official assignment.
“We are also grateful that Sen. Okpebholo appears to be fine after the despicable attack on a peaceful motorcade,” he said
He accused the Police of failure in their duties, which left a serving senator exposed to gunfire in a breach of security that caused fatality, adding that failure to investigate the incident would lead to self help in the state.
