The mother of the Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero is dead.
She was 86 years old.
Hajiya Maryam Bayero, popularly known as Mai Babban Daki, died on Saturday in a hospital in Cairo, Egypt.
She is also the mother of Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero.
The deceased was the eldest surviving widow of the late Emir Ado Bayero.
A source inside Kano emir’s palace told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that funeral arrangements would be announced as soon as her body arrives Kano from Cairo.
