The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), has released the comprehensive time table for the conduct of local government elections in the state.
The Chairman of KOSIEC, Mamman Nda Eri, who announced this in Lokoja, said the election will hold on October 19, 2024.
Eri said KOSEIC is empowered under section 197 of the Constitution of 1999 and also by Kogi State Government, via the local Government Election Law 2004, and the Electoral act 2010 (as amended) to conduct election into local governments in the state.
“We are assuring you that the activities have been designed with utmost consideration for inclusivity, and adherence to electoral laws.
He presented the detailed timetable and schedule of activities to all critical stakeholders for their information
This is in accordance with the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and the powers vested in the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), I hereby formally present the timetable and schedule of Activities for the conduct of the 2024 Local Government Elections in Kogi State which has been scheduled for October 19, 2024 by the of God,” he stressed.
