Bandits attacked a local vigilante camp in Shuwaka within the western Kamuku forest of Kakangi Ward, Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
The assailants killed three vigilantes and abducted dozens of farmers working in their farms at Kurgin Gabas , Sabon Layi area on Tuesday evening.
According to locals interviewed the attack occurred shortly after a previous attack where four vigilantes and a mobile policeman were killed on Sunday in the same Kakangi ward.
According to reports, the bandits targeted the camp strategically due to its location.
Former Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union BEPU Chairman Ishaq Kasai when contacted confirmed the incident, saying the number of people abducted is about 40.
Similarly, Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, Member of the State House Assembly for Kakangi Constituency, expressed concern over the ongoing violence after confirming the incident.
The state Police Command and state government have bot yet issue a statement on the incident.
