A woman, Aisha Abubakar, has been picked up by the security in Katsina State for allegedly transporting ammunition to terrorists.
A security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this on Monday, adding that the ammunition were found on the woman during a routine search of her luggage.
“The authorities discovered the ammunition in her luggage during a routine search,” he stated.
He said at first, she denied any involvement in the illegal activity, but later admitted to her role in the operation.
Makama said more investigations revealed more details about the intended destination of the ammunition, adding that “the suspect confesses that she was heading to Yan Tumaki in Dan Musa LGA in Katsina state.”
He said the arrest highlights the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and the importance of vigilance in preventing the proliferation of illegal weapons at border towns.
