A section of the Bayero Mall in Kano, was on Wednesday razed by what managers described as a sudden midday fire.
The mall, located on Zoo Road, houses high end and departmental stores.
The lease manager of the mall, Elizabeth Adeyemo, who confirmed the outbreak, said firemen were on ground making efforts to put out the fire.
While the fire fighters were at work, the entrance to the mall was cordoned off to prevent people from gaining access.
