Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has advised Muslims from the state performing the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage to pray for Nigeria and represent the state positively.
He gave the charge at the Port Harcourt International Airport in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area, on Tuesday, when he went to bid the pilgrims farewell.
Governor Fubara spoke on the privilege of undertaking the pilgrimage saying it is important to gain spiritual upliftment and well-being from the experience.
He also offered a subsidy for the 2024 Hajj costs for Rivers State pilgrims and extended this gesture to pilgrims from other South-South and South-East states.
Fubara told the pilgrims to pray fervently for the improvement of the state and Nigeria, considering the challenges facing the country.
“We are here to see your faces and wish you well. You are privileged to embark on this spiritual journey. What you owe the country and the state is prayers for a better state,” he said.
