A coalition of Civil Society Organisations, Nigeria First Project, has rated President Bola Ahmed high in tackling insecurity, infrastructural development, governance, education, agriculture, and social investments, among others in the last one year.
The coalition revealed this in Abuja during a press conference to mark the first anniversary of President Tinubu in office.
Addressing journalists on Sunday, the coalition Coordinator Hamza Umar Saulawa and Director of Research Comrade Bishir Dauda, said Tinubu’s administration has positively impacted the lives of many Nigerians irrespective of their ethnicity, gender, party affiliations or faith in the last 12 months.
“After painstaking efforts in tracking the administration’s campaign promises in the last one, we are happy that so far Mr President is Implementing his Renewed Hope Agenda faithfully and diligently,” the coalition announced.
The CSO also commended Mr Tinubu’s “courage to continue to stick to his manifestoes despite the hullabaloo mostly amplified out of proportion by some politicians and critics of the administration.”
They said they, however, observed how President Tinubu is being responsive and sensitive to the complaints of Nigerians, and the measures he has taken to ameliorate the suffering of the common man.
The coalition “equally salutes Nigerians for their resilience in the face of nation-building challenges,” adding that they have “confidence in the efficacy of the Renewed Hope Agenda and sincerity of purpose of President Tinubu.”
The Nigeria First Project said Mr Tinubu has tremendously enhanced the governance ecosystem as can be seen in the improvement in the country’s human rights records and the rule of law, robust anti-corruption index, freedom of speech and expression, zero-tension in executive-legislative relations, among others.
