The Kaduna state Government says bandits have killed five people, including a 80-year-old woman, in three local government areas of the state.
It said the 80-year-old woman was killed in Igabi local government area, a Ward Head and two other people were killed in Chikun local government area, while one person was killed and three others injured in Giwa local government area.
Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement on Sunday that a report by security agencies revealed that the 80-year-old woman, Hauwa Umaru, was hit and killed by a bullet when bandits invaded Sharu village and started shooting sporadically.
He said the Ward Head, Samaila Yohana was killed in Konti, while Alhaji Sabi and Mallam Rabiu, were killed by bandits at Dande in Chikun local government area.
