The exchange rate for import duties collection by the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has risen to N1457/$.
Checks on the exchange rate portal of the NCS showed that the current rate is the highest in over six weeks.
After rising to N1572.5/$ as of March 22, the NCS exchange rate fell to a three-month low of N1147/$, as the naira witnessed significant appreciation.
However, the rate started going up again as the naira lost the gains made, and has weakened by about 26 per cent.
On Friday, the naira closed at N1466/$ on the official window, while in the parallel market, the exchange rate was N1470/$.
