The Kaduna Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper accused of brutally murdering his six-year-old cousin with a razor blade.
The incident occurred on February 12, 2024, when the victim, Aisha Saidu, went missing on her way to Islamiyya school, as reported by her father, Mr. Saidu Dahiru.
A statement released by the State Police Commans Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, on Sunday said following the victim’s disappearance, a ransom demand of N8 million naira was made to her father, leading to the identification and arrest of the perpetrator, Abdulazeez Idris.
He said the suspect’s confession revealed the chilling details of the crime, where the innocent child was slain with a razor blade and the body dumped in a well for recognizing her cousin.
The Commissioner of Police assures the public of a thorough investigation to deliver justice for Aisha Saidu and her grieving family, with plans to charge the suspect upon completion of the inquiry.
