Makarfi Education Endowment Trust Fund (METEF) has announced its sponsorship of tuition fees for over 300 students, particularly those from vulnerable households in the LGA.
The foundation aims to alleviate financial burdens for students, enabling them to concentrate on their studies.
Sama’ila Aliyu Makarfi, the foundation’s secretary, revealed this during a courtesy visit by METEF’s leadership, led by Mahmud Bako Gazara, to stakeholders of Makarfi Local Government, including former State Governor Ahmed Makarfi.
Makarfi highlighted the foundation’s support for students from Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic and Kaduna University, underscoring efforts to establish a JAMB registration center in Makarfi LGA, eliminating the need for students to travel to Zaria for exams.
Chairman Mahmud Bako Gazara emphasized METEF’s dedication to reducing school dropout rates in the LGA, aiming for comprehensive educational advancement.
Umar Abdulkadir Ajilo, the representative for Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency, pledged collaboration with METEF to bolster educational development, citing Makarfi’s strong educational heritage.
Former Governor Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi,former Deputy Comptroller General of Customs Alhaji Garba Bala Makarfi, and Alhaji Auwalu Mohammed Makarfi, pledged their support to METEF’s mission, aiming to ensure equitable education for all Makarfi residents, regardless of socioeconomic status.
METEF, operational for a decade, continues to seek collaboration with stakeholders to achieve its noble objectives of enhancing educational opportunities.
