The Nigeria Police Force has arrested and detained a former aide-de-camp to embattled former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.
The PUNCH reports that the female ADC and other police officers attached to the 48-year-old Bello were arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Their arrests folkowed the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, order to withdraw all security details to Bello.
The IG gave the order after it was suspected that Bello’s security details aided and abetted the former governor’s escape from the EFCC on Wednesday.
“Yahaya Bello’s female ADC and other police officers attached to him were brought to the command this morning, and they’ve been detained for aiding and abetting (the governor’s escape),” the report said.
Mr Bello, who is a facing a N80 billion money laundering case at an Abuja federal high court, has been declared wanted by EFCC, NIS, NIA, DSS for escaping arrest on Wednesday.
