The Kano State Taskforce on Peace Restoration and Youth Rehabilitation has revealed that the taskforce had arrested 500 suspected criminals involved in various acts of thuggery and drug-related offenses across parts of the state.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Taskforce, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim, during a security stakeholders’ engagement in Kano. According to him following a resurgence of thuggery and drug-related crimes, the Taskforce successfully identified key criminal hideouts and notorious hotspots within communities across the eight metropolitan local government areas and commenced efforts to stop their hideous acts.
Highlighting the importance of collaboration, Dr. Ibrahim said the stakeholders’ meeting was vital for fostering peace and stability in the state.
In his address Kano State Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam, commented the committee’s efforts, noting that the creation of the Taskforce reflects the government’s strong commitment to addressing security challenges.
“This workshop marks a significant milestone in our collective journey toward ensuring peace and stability in Kano State, a goal that is not merely desirable but essential for the prosperity and progress of our great state,” he said.
