The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 41 suspects, including alleged principal actors, in connection with the recent killing of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano Division, CSP Baba Ali.
In a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command said it is working tirelessly to ensure that all perpetrators involved in the killing, as well as associated acts of mischief and arson, are brought to justice.
The command described the incident, which has drawn widespread condemnation, as a direct assault on the sacrifices of security personnel who risk their lives to safeguard the public.
“The command expresses shock and sadness over the brutal killing of CSP Baba Ali while on active duty. This senseless killing is a grave attack on the very fabric of our society,” the statement read.
The statement said, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has assured residents of Kano State that the command remains fully committed to protecting lives and property, and that no stone will be left unturned in pursuing justice for the slain officer.
“The Commissioner reiterates that the police will not rest until every individual connected to this heinous act is held accountable,” the statement revealed.
