Four members of the House of Representatives elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Zamfara State, on Tuesday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
They are Bello Shinkafi of the Shinkafi/Zurmi Federal Constituency; Ahmed Bakura, Bakura/Maradun; Ahmed Shehu, Bungudu/Maru; and Suleiman Gummi, Gummi/Bukkuyum respectively.
They cited the crisis within the party for their action.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila read their letters of defection signed by Rep. Suleiman Gumi at the opening of the session.
Governor Bello Matawalle formally defected from PDP to APC in Gusau on Tuesday last week, along with some members of the federal and state legislatures after months of speculations and denials.
However, the Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau and member of the House representing Anka/Talata-Mafara Federal Constituency, Kabiru Mafara, have remained in the PDP.
