No fewer than 35 people have been killed in recent bandit attacks in five communities in Maru local government area of Zamfara state.
The Emir of Maru, Alhaji Abubakar Gado Maigari confirmed this when he received Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle who was on condolence visit to the villages.
The emir said the affected villages are: Dutsin Gari, Asha-lafiya, Rayau, Munkuru, Mahuta and Talli.
He said the communities were currently in a terrible situation, and called on the governor to come to their aid.
Matawalle assured residents of the affected villages that adequate security personnel and relief materials would be deployed to the area to restore peace and cushion the effect of the attack.
