At least 30 people were killed and several others abducted in separate attacks Friday afternoon in Zamfara State.
The communities attacked are Nasarawar Mai Fara in Tsafe local government area, Yar Katsina in Bungudu local government area and Nasarawa village in Bakura local
The attacks was because the residents have failed to pay a N40 million levy imposed on them by the bandits.
Bandit kingpin Ada Aleru, reportedly imposed the levy and carried out the subsequent attacks. Aleru operates in the area, and the Faskari part of Katsina state.
Sources said in Yar Katsina village of Bungudu, the bandits had prevented people from observing the Muslims’ Jumu’at prayers. Those already in the mosque were dispersed.
There was no immediate response from the state police command over the incident.
