Twenty-seven people have been killed in gunmen attack on Odugbeho community of Agatu local government area of Benue State.
A security source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the assailants invaded the community at about 6:30pm on Sunday, when people were still at the community’s market, and also conducting a burial ceremony.
The Agatu Council Chairman, Adoyi Sule, confirmed the incident.
He said his team was conducted around the recovered bodies, some of whom were already buried in fresh graves, adding that most of the villagers have fled to take refuge in the neighbouring communities including Ogbaaulu village.
However, the state Police command is yet to respond to the incident.
