The Katsina State Commissioner for Environment, Hamza Sulaiman Faskari, has resigned his position to contest for the Southern Katsina senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that Faskari handed in his resignation letter at the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari on Monday.
This newspaper gathers that not less than 10 political appointees at both state and local levels have resigned on Monday to pursue political offices in the next election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had directed all public office holders with the intention to contest in 2027 to resign.
