The Jigawa State government says it will give priority to citizen’s inputs as it prepares the 2024 budget.
The state commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Babangida Umar Gantsa stated this during the 2024 budget town hall meeting with stakeholders.
Gantsa explained that in preparing the budget’s, the state government would consider inputs from the citizens .
The event was organized by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with Exceptional Leadership and Integrity Promotion Initiative, ELIP, on Tuesday, at the State Secretariat, Dutse.
He said the meeting was to allow the citizens to have direct inputs in the area of priorities for transparency and accountability.
“The Jigawa government prioritizes citizen’s inputs in preparing the annual budget for the development of the State.”
Executive director ELIP comrade Isah Mustapha told the citizens to make qualitative and quantitative issues in their budget input for the development of the State.
He then commended the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for allowing citizens’ inputs to ensure transparency and accountability in the budget.
