The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged intending pilgrims to pray for peaceful and hitch-free election in the country in 2023.
He also urged them to pray for the emergence of credible leaders after the election.
Sultan disclosed this while addressing the intending pilgrims from Sokoto at the Sultan Abubakar III International Airport Sunday’s evening.
The monarch further implored them to be steadfast in the performance and observance of their worship so as to make it effective.
In his remarks, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal admonished the prospective pilgrims to pray for the peace, unity as well as more development in the state and country in general.
He admonished them to abide by the rules and regulations of the Hajj exercise as well as COVID-19 protocols.
A total of 420 intending pilgrims from Gada, Yabo and Wurno local government areas of the state together with some officials of the state Pilgrims Welfare Agency departed on the first flight from Sokoto to Jeddah.
