The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kano state has Thursday issued certificate of return to 14 members-elect of the state House of Assembly after emerging as wi, era in the just concluded supplementary elections held last Saturday.
In his speech during the event, Kano State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Zango Abdu revealed that the commission had done all that it could to ensure a hitch free election entering processes in the state.
“Though we had to go for supplementary elections in some polling units which represent only 2% of the total number of polling units in the state, today, every winner has been declared and issued his certificate of return which marks the end of the 2023 election activities in Kano”, he said.
However, party chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano, Umar Haruna Doguwa commended INEC. The state party chairman also stated that the people of Kano state should expect from the oarty, good governance, responsive and responsible representation in all other sectors.
