Thirteen people were killed and 40 others wounded in an accident at MRS Fillin Station on Ahmadu Bello Way in Kaduna metropolis on Friday night.
According to Federal Road Safety road Corps, the incident occurred on Friday night around 11 pm when a trailer carrying onions and passengers from Kano State lost control and crashed.
Kaduna State Sector Commander, Kabir Y. Nadabo, who confirmed the incident in a statement issued to newsmen attributed it to overspeeding and overloading.
Nadabo, who was involved in the rescue and clearance operations, stated that 60 people were involved in the crash, with 40 sustaining injuries and 13 fatalities.
The injured were taken to Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital for treatment, while efforts to locate the vehicle’s owner and driver are ongoing.
