About 120 bandits have been killed in multiple airstrikes by Nigerian Air Force fighter jets at Sububu Forest in Zamfara State.
NAF spokesperson, Commodore Edward Gabkwet who confirmed the development said the airstrike was conducted on Monday.
He said the military carried out “the precision airstrikes on the armed bandits after an intelligence and identification of the locations to avoid collateral damage.”
This development came four days after bandits killed over 40 people in multiple attacks on five communities in Zamfara state.
The five communities attacked are in Faru district of Maradun Local Government Area of the state.
The affected communities include Gidan Baushi, Gidan Adamu, Tsauni, Gidan Maidawa and Wari.
Dozens of the bandits arrived at the communities on motorcycles firing sporadically, according to sources in the communities.
The assailants took away cows and other animals in house to house operations that lasted several hours.
