Ten persons had been killed and six other kidnapped as bandits attacked communities in Plateau and Taraba States.
In Plateau, seven locals were killed in the Jos South LGA of the State by gunmen while in Taraba three were killed and six other kidnapped on Sunday in Joro Manu village, Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Joro Manu villagers said the bandits stormed their settlement on motorcycles around 2pm and shot anyone in sight.
According to two villagers, Umar Saidu and Abdullahi Mohammed, the villagers were fleeing the area for fear of being killed or kidnapped.
The Taraba State Police spokesperson, DSP Gambo Kwache, said, the police is in control of the situation, adding that “we have made a deployment to the area to track down the attackers.”
In the Jos, incident, the National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, Rwang Tengwong, revealed that the attack happened on Sunday around 9pm in Danda Chugwi community of the council area during which seven people were killed at Danda Chugwi community following an attack by gunmen.
Director of Press and Public Affairs to Plateau stated governor, Macham Makut, said in a statement that Governor Simon Lalong has ordered security forces to track down the attackers.
