At least 10 persons have been killed and dozens of others displaced by floods in Adamawa state.
Executive Secretary of Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Suleiman Muhammad, said the flood affected some parts of Girei Local Government Area of the state.
He said the incident happened in Jabbi Lamba town, Girei Local government areas and its environs during Thursday’s torrential rainfall.
Six corpses have been recovered while four others are yet to be recovered, he said.
Dr Muhammad said, “The disaster is not unconnected to torrential rainfalls which lasted over 15 hours across the state. Six corpses have been recovered while four others are still missing. The natural disaster led to the hospitalisation of three kids after a building collapsed on them in the town.”
