The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been declared winner of the Saturday governorship election in Osun state. Below are 10 facts about the governor-elect:
1. He is from the Adeleke family of Ede in Osun state.
2. Adeleke is a father of five including B-Red, a Nigerian singer.
3. He was a senator representing Osun-west between 2017 and 2019.
4. He obtained a BSc in criminal justice from Metropolitan State College in the United States in 2021.
5. He was an executive director of Guinness Nigeria Plc from 1992-1999.
6. He decamped from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in April 2017.
7. He is an uncle to popular musician, Davido.
8. He lost the Osun governorship election after it was declared inconclusive by INEC in 2018.
9. He was accused and charged to the Osogbo high court for allegedly forging his secondary school testimonial and WAEC in 2018.
10. He is popularly known as a “Dancing Senator.”
