One member of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shi’ites, was died on Monday during a protest in Abuja.
The incident happened when members of the group gathered in Abuja for a protest to mark the birth of their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, who has been in detention for more than five years.
An eyewitness told 21st Century Chronicle that the Shi’ite member was killed when the Police opened fire on the group at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) office in Maitama, where the group began it’s protest.
He said the protester was hit by a bullet and he died instantly while several others were injured.
